Roof Repairs

Leaking roofs are not always a simple fix. It is important to remember this when having work done on the roof. Water showing in one spot could be leaking at an entire different location on the roof. Water can travel a long way before it becomes noticeable. This is why any person coming to your house will be certified and experienced in what to look for in terms of roof leaks. Once the source of the leak has been determined additional discussion will be needed to figure out a solution to the problem. Leak repairs range greatly on time, size and material. Since every leak is unique there are no set costs for repairs needed to correct the problem.

The other most common causes are: damaged flashings (usually found around chimneys, walls and skylights), missing shingles, and physical damage to roof (broken tree limbs ect.)

There are many reasons why a roof can be leaking. The most common being age. Age affects every aspect of the performance of the roof. Over time the elements ware down the integrity of the roof. However if the roof is newer (less than 5 years) the leak may be easy to locate and fix. If not attended to, these leaks can lead to water damage, this can turn into an expensive problem later on.

In most cases we can temporally stop the leak (not fix it). There is a difference between stopping a leak and fixing it. By just stopping the leak the problem is not solved and will reoccur. In most cases we have to come back in better weather to fix the problem to our high standards.

Unfortunately in our business the reality is we can not guarantee a leak repair. The reason being that if we guarantee one repair and the roof leaks in a different location we would be held accountable for it. It has nothing to do with our workmanship of the leak we fixed it is just a liability issue from different locations.

Every roof has an expiry date; when it comes to that time in most cases it more cost effective to replace the roof.
